Individual Proposal
Our overall group project focuses on CSAs and sustainability. However, for my individual project, I am going to be looking specifically at farmers markets. Farmers markets are of extreme importance because they give farmers and consumers the opportunity to buy and sell locally. This is good for consumers because it offers organic, healthy food products. It is good for farmers because they are able to make a profit. For my project, I am going to be exploring this further. I plan to go to the local farmers market here in Syracuse and talk to the people who are buying and selling these products. By talking to them, I believe that I will gain a better understanding of how important farmers markets are to communities. I also want to do some scholarly research. How exactly do farmers markets benefit local economies? How much of a benefit in it? Are there any weaknesses to farmers markets? Looking at weaknesses will help me to see the complexities of my topic, and will ultimately make the project stronger.

Sounds great, I wonder if we will find connections between problems in the farmers market and problems at the farms?
I really want to see where this goes. If farmers markets are are "better" then super markets or people just shop there to support the community. Im also curious to see the standards that everyone must follow and the rules and regulations they need to follow
